April Journal Quilt

This was inspired by a weeping willow with the sun behind it in the springtime - the leaves were just starting to unfold. I quickly, intuitively, put together a background of calico and layered silk of different thicknesses - greens, blues, yellows, browns - over it, to work on it over an Easter holiday break. I wanted to use an abstract design based on falling stems with new leaves with the light behind.
