This quilt was based on the wrought iron gates at a local stately home. I layered two fabrics, sewed the design and cut back to reveal the fabric underneath. It is also embellished with quilting and painted, heated Tyvek. One of the stipulations of the course is that the wallhanging will have a hanging device integral to the design and this was made from card, wire, tissue paper and PVA glue and painted with acrylic paint.
31" from top of hanging device to bottom of diamond, 18" across widest part of diamond.

In designing the wallhanging, I made several samples to try out different techniques. This is one of them.
