February Journal Quilt
I played with the pod design a bit more. I layered cotton fabric, velvet and metallic organza, stitched the pod shape and cut it back to the velvet. I kept looking at it for a few days; eventually added yellow and orange pieces and cut it up to echo side shapes and used a linen placemat as a background. I also started to experiment with alternative bindings. This one is zigzagged with a decorative yarn couched around it.
